About Hani
Hani i 2 Robertëve is the first independent cultural organization in Kosovo, founded in May 1989. It initially opened as a cafeteria inside a tunnel-shaped passage with dozens of cafeterias, in the architectural complex named Kurrizi, in the Dardania neighborhood of Pristina, and later moved to the space known as Santea, in the same neighborhood.
From the start, Hani stood out as a place where youth and creatives could operate freely, at a time when cultural and public activities had to be authorized by the harsh power of the Serbian regime. This self-organization became an early warning for the resistance movement of the 1990s.
During this period, Hani i 2 Robertëve It expanded as a restaurant and a center for cultural and informational activities, becoming a meeting point for artists, politicians, diplomats and journalists, local and international. It was where people created, debated and resisted through art and free speech.
After war, Hani continued with the same energy and dedication. It has recently been registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO), which builds on the cultural heritage of Hani as an important center in the 90s, with an annual program of exhibitions and other cultural activities, while maintaining the spirit of commitment and freedom that has characterized it since day one.
